Ard has gained wide experience by providing advice to national and international businesses in matters ranging from contract law to the settlement of disputes, both between and inside enterprises.
His extensive legal expertise combines perfectly with his excellent negotiating and pleading skills, paired with the down-to-earth business mentality which is so characteristic of Rotterdam people. In his free time Ard is politically active as a councillor.

Work experience
Between 1995 and 2006 Ard van der Steur worked as a lawyer at NautaDutilh NV in Rotterdam. He left the firm in 2006, when he was a partner with the corporate and commercial litigation practice group. Ard teaches civil law and company law at Moot Court, Leiden University. In addition he is active as general counsel with the national retail pharmacists’ chain of DA.
